The Cleuson-Dixence power station is one of Europe’s most impressive hydro-electric power stations. Its technical output includes several world records: highest head at 1,883 m, greatest output per Pelton turbine of 423 MW as well as the penstock which has to withstand the greatest current internal pressure of a water head worldwide of 2,070 m.

MCE, active in the industrial services sector and headquartered in Linz, Austria has acquired Technische Services Gersthofen GmbH (TSG) from Clariant. The former member of the Clariant Group with its registered office in Gersthofen is active in the industrial maintenance sector and in engineering. In 2007, with a staff of 130, the company generated total sales of approx. EUR 25 million.

MCE AG: Positive development continued with a high
degree of dynamism

In the 2007 financial year the MCE Group dynamically continued the positive business
development of previous years. Order intake grew by almost 14% and total sales reached the record level of
EUR 1.1 billion. Profitability nearly doubled and EBIT, at EUR 35m, was 3.1%.
All divisions concluded the financial year with a positive operating result. The company expects the introduction
of its new organisational structure to lead to further improvements in results and margins in 2008
as was observed by MCE AG’s CEO, Ludger Kramer, today at a press conference held in Vienna together
with MCE AG’s CFO, Josef Mayböck.

Apprentice career at MCE AG
At present MCE AG is training 195 apprentices in 15 trades throughout Austria, in Upper Austria at the sites in Linz, Wels, Kirchdorf and Ebensee. The focus is on trades related to metals and electrical engineering such as mechanical engineering, machining, welding, electrical process engineering and mechatronics.
